Francine Larsen

Francine Larsen passed away July 13, 2023, in the arms of her family in Clearfield, Utah.

 

Francine was born July 22, 1940, to Victor Rudger Smith and Donna Argyle in Ogden, Utah. She was the second of six children. Francine graduated from Davis High in 1958, and later went on to graduate with her nursing degree from Brigham Young University in 1964.

 

Francine was married and went on to raise her five children as a single mother, before meeting the love of her life, Ernest Larsen. They were married in 1980 in the Manti Temple, and Francine gained four bonus children whom she loved as her own.

 

Francine dedicated her life to the nursing profession, working tirelessly to provide comfort and care to those in need at Davis Hospital, from its in opening in 1976 until she retired in 2007 as the Director or Women’s Services. Her tireless work ethic and unwavering dedication were evident in every interaction she had with her family and patients. Francine's hard work and perseverance were unparalleled, earning her the respect and admiration of both her colleagues and the patients she cared for.

 

Perhaps what defined Francine the most was her deep sense of compassion and service orientation. She approached her life with a genuine care and empathy that made a lasting impact on those around her. Francine had a remarkable ability to connect with anyone around her. Throughout her life, Francine faced numerous challenges with unwavering resilience and an unmatched persistence.

 

Francine possessed a quick wit and clever sense of humor that brought joy and laughter to those around her. She relished in her relationships with Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. She always had an open lap, an extra phone call with a listening ear, and of course her infamous tickles. She could be found or heard in the cheering section supporting children and great grandchildren, whether it was a sports event, dance recital, or school event. Francine was a remarkable soul who touched the lives of many. Francine exemplified the true essence of generosity and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on all her family and friends.

 

What truly set Francine apart was her unwavering support for others. She dedicated her time and energy to uplift those in need. Francine's empathy knew no bounds, and she touched countless lives through her acts of compassion and understanding. Francine was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she cherished and honored her Temple Covenants. She served in many positions within the Church and stayed faithful until the end. She spent most days listening to and singing along to gospel hymns and messages, along with studying the gospel.

 

Francine Larsen will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of kindness, resilience, persistence, selflessness, and unwavering support will forever be etched in our hearts.

 

She is proceeded by her parents Victor and Donna, a loving husband Ernest, and brother Stephen.

 

Survived by her siblings Pamela Wilson, Vicki Simpson, Craig (Kathy) Smith and Marisa (John) Smeding; Children, Robynne (Les) Carter, Stephanie Cutshaw, Denyse Moore, Richard (Joni) Swanson, Ami (John) Jorgensen, Linda (Les) Wilberg, Shelley (Lynn) Hook, Lisa (Steve) Bates, Todd (Annette) Larsen, 35 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and still growing.

 

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 21st at 10 o’clock at the Clearfield Stake Center at 935 S. State Street. A viewing will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 at Lindquist Layton Mortuary, 1867 Fairfield Rd. A viewing will also be held from 9:00 to 9:45 prior to services at the stake center. Interment will be held at Clearfield City Cemetery.
