Francis "Frank" James. November 7, 2025. Born September 13, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA. Beloved husband of the late Genevieve (nee Sirolli) Amabile. He is survived by his 4 children; Frank (Bonnie) Amabile, Michael Amabile, Christopher (Elizabeth) Amabile, and Stephanie (Anthony) Abruzzese. Loving grandfather of Jennifer Howard, Frank Amabile, Christian Amabile, Mia Amabile Rudolph, Genevieve Brodie, Andrew Amabile, Dominic Amabile, Vincent Haas, and Francesca Haas. Brother of Joseph Amabile, Rose Levy, and the late Blaise Amabile. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Elizabeth Amabile.
Francis attended St. Thomas More School as well Saint Joseph University and received a degree in Criminal Justice. He served with the Philadelphia Police Department as an inspector and was the Chief of Police in the Lower Moreland Police Department. He was a proud member of the United States Army where he served as a tank operator. He was also a football coach for St. Monica's School from 1966 to 1971.
Relatives and friends are invited to his VIEWING Thursday November 13, 2025 9am to 10am at St. Monica's Church 17th and Ritner St., Philadelphia, PA 19145. His funeral mass will follow at 10am. Int. Peter and Paul. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to St. Monica's Church.
