Francis Mark Ball, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on September 9, 1937, in Evansville, Indiana, he had a life rich in love and dedication touching the hearts those around him with his kindness and generosity.
Mark proudly retired in December of 1992 after more than 25 years of dedicated service at the Louisville Water Company. His career was marked not just by his hard work, but by the friendships he formed and the respect he earned from his colleagues. He was known affectionately as the true definition of "Mr. Fix It," always ready to lend a helping hand or a wise word to those in need.
His passions extended beyond his professional life. He cherished nothing more than taking care of his family and others, embodying the values of love and support that he instilled within his family. Marks' heart was a vast reservoir of compassion, and he always found joy in the little moments shared with his loved ones.
Mark leaves behind a legacy of warmth and connection through his three devoted daughters: Lori (Mark) Jared, Lisa (Brian) Farmer, and Kelly (Steve Turner) Collie. His love extended to his grandchildren, including Sheri Bennett, David Jared, Mark Allen Jared, Brianna Farmer, Brinden Farmer, Hanah Collie, Dakota Collie, and Reegan Collie, each of whom held a special place in his heart. With 13 great-grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter soon to arrive, 1 great-great-granddaughter, along with 1 great-great-granddaughter soon to arrive, and his nephew, Tony Fiorello, Mark's family tree continues to grow, embodying the love and care he so generously shared.
He reunites in spirit with several loved ones who departed before him, including his beloved wife Sharon Ball, his parents Rosella DiGiovanni and Francis Ball, and his sister Shelby Fiorello. Their memories will forever be cherished by those who remain, illuminating the lives they shaped and inspired.
A visitation will take place from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, March 13th at Newcomer Funeral Home (10304 Dixie Hwy). A service celebrating Mark's life will immediately follow at 1:00 pm. He will then be laid to rest in Bethany Cemetery.
