Francis Arthur Cooke, 95, of Conyers, Georgia, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025. Born on March 7, 1930, in College Park, Georgia, Francis was the son of the late William and Frances Cooke.
At the age of 17, Francis proudly entered the United States Navy, serving during the Korean War. It was in 1947, the same year he enlisted, that he met the love of his life, Colleen - beginning a partnership that would span 66 wonderful years until her passing.
After his military service, Francis built a long and dedicated career with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1989. Outside of work, he was an active member of his community, belonging to the Rockdale Runners Club and the Rockdale JCs. A passionate golfer, Francis enjoyed many friendships and fond memories at Fieldstone and Honey Creek Golf Clubs.
Known for his steady hands and generous heart, Francis was the family's "Mr. Fix-It," always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh. He was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather who found his greatest joy in time spent with those he loved.
Francis was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Colleen Cooke, and his parents, William and Frances Cooke. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Donna Cooke; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and John Morris; grandchildren, Kyle and Kaitlin Cooke, Lucia and Rainey Morris; and great-grandchild, Noah Cooke.
His life was a testament to love, service, and quiet strength, and his legacy will continue through the family and friends who were fortunate to know him.
In remembrance of Francis and his lifelong dedication to helping others, a memorial fund has been set up to support children in need. Donations can be made at https://confidentthreads.org/donate
