In Loving Memory of Shirley B. Moore
August 25, 1936 - November 14, 2025
Shirley Moore was born on August 25, 1936, in the historic city of Savannah, Georgia. Her early years were spent surrounded by the charm and warmth of her hometown until her family relocated to Pine Lake, Georgia. Shirley's formative years were marked by her energetic spirit and love for academia and athletics, especially basketball. She graduated from Clarkston High School in 1955, where she was an active and proud member of the school community.
Shortly after high school, Shirley married her beloved husband, Allen "Dink" Moore, in 1956. Together, they built a loving and supportive home, welcoming two sons and one daughter. Shirley's devotion to her family was unwavering and served as the foundation of her life. She was a nurturing mother and a loyal partner, always putting her family's needs before her own.
Shirley began her professional career as an administrative assistant during Governor Carl Sanders's term, displaying diligence, integrity, and a strong work ethic. She also contributed her talents to the Georgia State Highway Department, where she was respected by colleagues for her competence and kindness. In 1969, Shirley chose to retire from her career to dedicate herself fully to raising her children, embodying the values of selflessness and commitment that defined her character.
Faith was central to Shirley's life. She was an active and devoted member of Rowland Hills Baptist Church, where she participated in various ministries and built lifelong friendships. After moving to
Conyers, Georgia, in 1977, Shirley and Dink continued their faith journey with the Rockbridge Baptist Church and later with Haven Fellowship Church. Her involvement in these communities was marked by her compassion, generosity, and desire to serve others.
Shirley and Dink spent their years in Conyers enjoying retirement, cherishing time with friends, neighbors, and their growing family. Shirley's legacy is one of love, faith, and unwavering devotion to those around her. She will be remembered for her welcoming smile, gentle spirit, and the countless ways she touched the lives of all who knew her.
Shirley Moore's life was a testament to the power of kindness, faith, and family. She leaves behind her two sons and one daughter; and a legacy of love that will be carried forward by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Shirley's journey was one marked by devotion to her family, steadfast faith, and service to her community. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those she loved.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Moore Jr.; mother, Pansy Jones Bragg-Moore; father, John Benjamin Bragg; step-father, Cadwell L. Wilkes; brother, Donald Lamar Bragg; sister, Virginia Bragg Doster. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-laws, Allen ( Susie) Lee Moore III and Martin ( Ann) C. Moore; daughter and son-in-law, Dana ( Kris) Campbell; grandchildren, Rae ( Jimmy) Gaddy, Lindsey (Mike) Argo, Jackie (Matt) Rogers, Brittany (Glenn) Travis, Brett( Erica) Moore, Josh Moore, and Dalton (Destinee) Campbell; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 16, 2025 at 3:00 PM at with Curt Zehner officiating; interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens.
