Francis Robert "Bob" Gans, 82, passed away on Sunday, May 4th, 2025, in Eldorado, Illinois. He was born in Joliet, Illinois on March 25th, 1943, to Francis Richard Gans and Rose Theresa (Kuhel) Gans, who preceded him in death, as did his sisters Rose and Brenda.
He married the love of his life, Edith Paulette (Coomes) Gans, on August 1st, 1964. She preceded him in death on December 8th, 2024, after sixty years of marriage.

Following a ten year career as a police officer and homicide detective, he later worked for the Joliet Post Office. When he and Paulette retired to Eldorado, they worked at the Harrisburg Walmart and at The Golden Circle and spent many happy hours fishing at Jones Lake.
He is survived by his sister Cynthia (Joliet) ; his sons Steve (Clearwater, FL) and Christopher (Plainfield); his daughters-in-law Michele and Stacy; his grandchildren Tyler, Emma, Dakota, and Shawnee; and many cousins.
