Francis Howes Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Garner Funeral Home and Chapel - Monroe City on Jun. 18, 2024.
Francis Kay Howes, age 85, peacefully passed away on June 17, 2024, at her home in Round Rock, Texas. She was born on October 8, 1939, to Ernest and Eloise Swank in Perry, Missouri.
Kay graduated from high school in Perry, Missouri, and pursued her passion for education, becoming a dedicated teacher. Throughout her career, she imparted knowledge and wisdom to students in Perry, Kirksville, and Monroe City schools until her well-deserved retirement.
On August 14, 1960, she married E. Gene Howes, who preceded her in death on May 30, 2013. Kay's faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a devout Christian who walked closely with God. She cherished moments spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, and found joy in reading and staying active through exercise.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Gene, her son Jason S. Howes, and her brother Earl Wayne Swank. She is survived by her daughter, Patty Howes (Ray Silva) of Round Rock, Texas; four grandchildren, Nick Silva (Christina), Alexis Silva, Jason Howes, and Brandon Huchison; and two great-grandchildren, Mateo Silva and William Howes.
Funeral services to honor and remember Kay will be under the compassionate care of Garner Funeral Home & Chapel in Monroe City, Missouri. Details regarding the service will be announced at a later time.
Kay will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her, but her legacy of love, faith, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
