Francis Lux

Francis C. Lux, 92, of Plainville, Connecticut passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2025, after a short illness. He was the loving husband of the late Eileen (Barrett) Lux who passed away in 2020 and with whom he shared 64 wonderful years of marriage.
Francis was a devoted family person known for his kindness, gentle nature, and generous spirit. Born on August 5, 1933, he was the son of the late Gustave and Alice (Schubnell) Lux. He grew up in New Britain and lived most of his life in Plainville. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Francis worked at the Connecticut Department of Corrections retiring after 26 years of service. He spent the early part of his career as a baker at the former Farmington Avenue Bakery in New Britain and continued his passion for baking throughout his life making countless cakes for weddings and many, many special occasions for his family over the years. Following his retirement, he enjoyed going to Florida with his wife Eileen, playing golf, going out for coffee, watching his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates, and there was never a tag sale he could pass by.
Francis cherished his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose quiet strength and gentle presence enriched every life. He leaves his loving children Holly Eamiello (Lee) of West Hartford, Nancy DeVoe (Mark) of New Hartford, Brian Lux (Patricia) of Farmington, and Wendy Lux (Albert Yakulevich) of Plainville and Maine. Fondly known as grandpa and papa, he leaves his eight cherished grandchildren, Caitlyn Dell'Accio (Michael), Gina Mazzadra (Matthew), Michael D'Onofrio (Lana), Kara Sadlon (Jim), Natalie and John Lux, and Connor and Brandon Yakulevich. He also leaves six beloved great-grandchildren Vincent, Luciana and Carmine Dell'Accio, Leo and Dante Mazzadra, and Andrew Sadlon, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Daniel, Louise, Albert, Dorothy, Raymond, and Evelyn.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 11 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad Street, Plainville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 94 Broad Street, Plainville. Burial will be private at a later date.
