It is with both heavy hearts and joyous remembrance that we celebrate the life of Francis LeRoy "Bud" Massey Jr., who passed away on November 15, 2025, at the age of 94 in Springfield, Missouri. Born in Hutchinson, Kansas, on April 2, 1931, Bud lived a life rich in love, accomplishment, and service. Bud was united in marriage to Ruth Alexander in 1953.

Bud dedicated his professional life to the field of engineering, earning a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Wichita State and a Master's Degree online, and making his mark as a mechanical engineer for Owens Corning in the manufacturing industry. His inventive spirit and passion for problem-solving inspired many and left a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of working alongside him.

As a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Bud served his country with honor from August 17, 1954, to August 8, 1956. His commitment to service extended beyond his military years, as he became a cherished father and grandfather to his loving family.

Bud was a member of Seminole Baptist Church.

Bud is survived by his devoted children: son Scott Massey and wife Taffy, son Dennis Massey and wife JunJun, daughter Nancy Miller and husband Ted; seven grandchildren, Chris Miller and wife Rebecca, Brian Miller and wife Callie, Austin Miller and wife Amber, Robert Massey, Matthew Massey, David Massey, and Diana Lu; six great-grandchildren, Ayden Miller, Asher Miller, Hadley Miller, Raleigh Miller, Alivia Miller, and Jack Miller; one sister, Mary Hensley; and a host of family and friends. His legacy will live on through them, as they embrace the values, love, and wisdom he imparted throughout his life.

Bud was preceded in death by: his wife Ruth Massey; parents, Francis and Adeline Massey Sr: and a sister, Joyce Kinseth.

We invite family and friends to honor and celebrate Bud's remarkable life with a visitation on November 23, 2025, from 2-4 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home South. A joyous gathering will take place on November 24, 2025, at 11:30 AM at Seminole Baptist Church, where we will share stories, laughter, and cherished memories of a man who brought light and love to all he encountered. Memorial donations may be made in Bud's name to Seminole Baptist Church.
