Edna Massey Obituary
Edna married the love of her life, Ted "Proctor" Massey, on June 10, 1950. For many years, they were the owners of Proctor's Swim Club. Together, they worked at the Red Cross Building at the NC State Fair for 27 years, helping lost children, families with first aid needs, and anyone in need of directions.
Edna is survived by her sons: Ted Proctor Massey, Jr. (Donna), Robert "Bobby" Ferrell Massey; grandchildren: Chris Massey (Monica), Jordan Massey (Jessica), Lauren Massey Williams (Matt); great-grandson: Daniel Massey.
In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Ted "Proctor" Massey; brothers: Sam Chalk, Wilbur Chalk, Billy Chalk, Harvey Chalk, Gene Chalk; sisters: Miriam Watkins, Jesse Fraizer, and Hazel Chalk.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Monday, November 24, 2025, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church, 3328 Forestville Road, Raleigh, NC 27616. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
Flowers are accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church.
