William Lee "Bill" Jones

"Bill" Jones, 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Transitions LifeCare.

The family takes comfort knowing that Bill is now in heaven with his Lord and Savior. Bill was born July 12, 1941, in Gallatin, TN, to the late Woodrow Jones and Lucille Burrows Jones.

Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather (Grandpa), brother, and friend. He was a dedicated member of the former Milner Memorial Presbyterian Church for over fifty years, where he served as an Elder and Treasurer.

Bill was a graduate of Mississippi State University and a member of the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity. He was extensively involved in the fraternity, holding positions of secretary, vice president, and president at various times while he was an undergraduate. Once he graduated, Bill began his career working for Green Seed Company in TN, eventually moving to Raleigh, NC with the company. In 1971, Bill and his partners started Southern Seeds Inc., and Bill became president in 1993. He worked at Southern Seeds for the remainder of his career and enjoyed going into the office a couple of days a week until a few months ago. In his free time, Bill loved to play golf, watch sports, work in his yard, and walk around the neighborhood with pockets full of biscuits for all the neighbors' dogs.

Bill is survived by his daughters: Christie J. Sharpe (Kevin), Angie J. Howard, Melinda J. Keen (Randall); brother, Ronny Jones (Becky); grandchildren: Jason Sharpe, Trevor Howard (Allie), Trey Howard, Emily Sharpe, Samantha Kasior, Avery Keen; and a great-granddaughter, Vera Howard.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Pam Jones.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 11:00 am, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale. The family will receive relatives and friends immediately following the service.
