Francis Godbey Staton

Francis Godbey Staton, 82, of Anderson, passed away on March 13, 2026, at the Community Hospital in Anderson. He was born on July 19, 1943, in Perryville, KY, the son of Francis Staton and Frances Robertson.

He worked for General Motors and retired as the utility man at plant 3.

He was an avid race fan and enjoyed woodworking.

Francis is survived by two brothers, William Staton and Sydney (Sandy) Staton. His sons, Bill (Danny) Staton and Todd (Kamma) Staton, Daughter in law Mindy Staton; grandchildren, Brandon (Kasey) Staton, W. Todd (Kyleigh) Staton, Ashley (Andrew) Sargent, Andrew (Jenna) Baas, Kaitlyn Roberts, Jacob (Samantha) Baas, Tyler Baas, and Shaylee Staton; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his great-granddad, William Cooley; mother, Frances Robertson; step dad, Donald Robertson:; son, Troy Staton; grandson, Anthony Roberts; partner, Karen Vanatta; and mother of his children, Donna J. Staton.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson, IN.

Services will follow visitation at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.

Burial will take place in the Grovelawn Cemetery, Pendleton.
