Francis "Frank" Taylor Sr., a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, at the Arnold Walter Nursing Home in Holmdel. Born on November 18, 1951, in
Manhattan, New York, Frank spent his formative years in the Bronx, cultivating a resilient spirit and an enduring love for his city. A true Bronx boy at heart. In the 1970's, he laid down roots in Keansburg, where he would build his life and legacy.
Frank was predeceased by his loving parents, Frank and Rita, and his dear sister, Mary Smyth. His memory will be forever honored by his devoted children: Son Francis Taylor Jr., his step children Denise Smith, Sandra Donhue, and Rhonda Jelinski; his daughter-in-law, Alexandra Samuels; his adoring grandchildren Silas and Rita Taylor as well as his seven step-grandchildren as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who were touched by his vibrant presence.
Throughout his life, Frank was known for his strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. As an owner/operator truck driver, he served several companies with dedication and pride.
Frank's passions extended beyond the roads he traveled. A lover of music, he found joy in the melodies of Frank Sinatra, whose songs resonated with the soundtrack of his own life. He will do it his way. An avid Yankee fan, Frank never missed a chance to reminisce growing up around the corner from Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.
One of Frank's most treasured experiences was his time as a personal driver for Arturo Gatti, the Canadian professional boxer and his dear friend. This chapter of his life brought him immense pride and fond memories that he would recount with a gleam in his eye. It was moments like these that highlighted Frank's ability to connect with people from all walks of life, forming lasting bonds and unforgettable stories.
Frank's influence extended far beyond his immediate circle. His tenacity for life on his terms, humor, and his one of a kind personality left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
As we bid farewell to Francis Taylor Sr., we celebrate a life lived with passion, free will, and an abundance of love and humor. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide us, and his memory will be cherished in our hearts forever. Frank's journey through life was a testament to the power of resilience, the importance of family, and the power of laughter . He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
