Francisca Rodriguez Ruiz, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025, in Odessa, Texas, at the age of 79. She was born on May 11, 1945, in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico to Guillermo and Manuela Rodriguez.
Francisca devoted her life to creating a loving home, often described as the glue that held her family together. Her passion for gardening, watering the yard, and reading brought her joy, but some of her happiest moments were spent with her grandchildren. She usually had an appetite for red enchiladas and had a liking for the color royal blue, which reflected her vibrant spirit.
Francisca is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Jesus Porras Ruiz, with whom she shared 57 wonderful years of marriage; her son, Humberto Ruiz; and her siblings, Willie Rodriguez, Felix Rodriguez, Monica Rodriguez, and Guadalupe Ramirez.
She is survived by her loving children, Dora Ruiz, Margie Gonzalez and her husband, Eduardo, Jesus Ruiz and his wife, Angelica, Luis Ruiz and his wife, Bety, Edward Ruiz and his wife, Mirna, and Marisol Aranda and her husband, Adrian; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Gonzalo Rodriguez, Auden Rodriguez, Manny Rodriguez, Elias Rodriguez, Martha Hernandez, and Socorro Juarez all who will carry on her memory.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Harkey Funeral Home. A service will be conducted at the Monahans Event Center on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 1:00 PM, with the burial following immediately afterward at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.
