Francisco Montemayor, a cherished family man, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, in
Madera, California. Born on October 10, 1934, in Pawnee, Texas to Mauricio and Basilia Montemayor, Francisco's journey through life was marked by love, laughter, and an unwavering work ethic. He was 91 years old.
Francisco's early years in Texas laid the foundation for a life of dedication and perseverance. Though his formal education concluded at the second grade, he never let that define his capabilities. In 1955, he married the love of his life, Maria, in a union that flourished over 70 years. Together, they built a family and a legacy that would stand the test of time.
In 1958, Francisco and Maria moved to Madera, where he found his calling in agriculture. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish his own trucking business, which he ran with the same integrity and commitment he applied to all areas of his life. Francisco's work not only provided for his family but also contributed significantly to his community.
Francisco's life was filled with simple joys. He was a lifelong fan of the Dodgers and the Cowboys, finding excitement in each game. His love for tractor work was more than a hobby; it was a testament to his love for staying active and involved. Francisco's sense of humor was legendary; he could always be counted on to share a joke and bring laughter to any gathering. Francisco loved to hear accordion music and dance all while having a good time. His competitive spirit shone through in his love for playing dominoes, always ready for a friendly challenge. As well as watching wrestling.
Above all, Francisco was a loving and kind man. He is predeceased by his parents, Mauricio and Basilia Montemayor, his siblings Erineo, Christino, Simon, and Juanita Montemayor, his son Anselmo Montemayor, son-in-law Gonzalo Gonzalez, and daughter-in-law Patty Lopez Montemayor. His legacy continues through his beloved wife, Maria Montemayor, and his children: Frank (Linda) Montemayor, Simon Montemayor, Jessie (Stella) Montemayor, Olivia Gonzalez, Margaret (Eddie) Aguilar of Arizona, Beatrice (Ismael) Galindo of Bakersfield, Patricia (Carlos) Bermudez, and Dolores (Rene) Galvan all of Madera. His family circle extends to include his daughter-in-law, Hope Montemayor, 36 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored.
Francisco's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and hard work. He was surrounded by his family, who loved him dearly, up until his final moments. His memory will be held in the hearts of those who knew him as a beacon of joy and an example of a life well-lived. Francisco Montemayor's story is not one of an end but a lasting influence that will continue to inspire generations to come.
