Francisco "Frank/Pancho" Javier Olivares beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 13, 2025.
Born November 13, 1955 in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico to Jose Concepcion Olivares and Maria de la Luz Martinez. At the age of five his family immigrated to Colusa, CA to join their father permanently, his father had worked many years as a Laborer Farm Worker, during the Bracero Program Era. His father settled in Colusa, CA where he managed a prune orchard. Frank attended school in Colusa from first grade until he graduated high school in 1974.
He worked most of his life as a mechanic in various aspects of the trade from automotive and farm equipment to maintenance at a recycling facility. Pancho enjoyed fishing, watching western and action movies, and especially listening to music, preferably Oldies, Rancheras, Norteñas and Country music. He could spend hours planting and taking care of his beautiful garden. Neighbors enjoyed walking by and admired the beautiful colorful flowers and trees. He received many compliments from people, some wishing their garden looked the same as his. He inherited Mama Lucita's green thumb. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. The bond they shared was unique. He joked, played with them and took care of them. Their bond was noticed as he watched them with love as they took care of him until the day they said their good-byes.
Frank is survived by his wife of 40 years Gloria; daughters Erica Ortega (Juan) of Hayward, CA, Jackie Olivares Pantoja (Everardo) of Colusa, CA; son Frankie Olivares (Stuart) of Ypsilanti, MI.
He is survived by his grandchildren; Alejandro Olivares of Colusa, CA, Jonathan Ortega (Abby) of Manteca, CA, Daniel Sanchez, Jr. of Anchorage, AK, Joemar Ortega of Hayward, CA, Xochitl Ortega, Victoria Ortega, Ariana Ortega of Hayward, CA.
