Francisco P. "Frank" Torrez, Sr., 84, died January 6, 2026, surrounded by his family, at his home in Hutchinson. He was the youngest child born to Silbestre and Isabelle (Ruiz) Torrez on December 18, 1941, in Larned.

Frank retired from Eaton Corporation, after over 40 years of service. He enjoyed attending estate sales and spending time with his family. Frank and his wife, Frances, devoted their lives to taking care of their daughter, Lisa, making sure her needs were taken care of above theirs. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson.

On January 28, 1961, he married Mary Ellen "Frances" Navarro, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (when it was on Avenue E and Adams). Frances died October 29, 2021, after they shared almost 61 years of marriage.

Frank is survived by: children, Francisco P. "Frank" Torrez, Jr. (Bridget) of South Hutchinson, Karen Torrez, Joe Torrez (Cathy), and Lisa Torrez, all of Hutchinson; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Raymond G. "Ray" Torrez; grandsons, Matthew John Torrez and Joseph M. Torrez; and siblings, Phillip Torrez, Bobbie Duarte, Jane Devinney, Phyllis Aldrete, Jess Torrez, Manuel Torrez, and Don Torrez.

Parish Rosary will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2025, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 a.m., both at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 612 S. Maple, South Hutchinson, with Father Eric M. Weldon officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will be present Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary to receive friends.

Memorials are suggested to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
