Francys Darlene Edwards (Darlene), 82, of Salisbury NC, passed away Wednesday March 19, 2025, at home.
Darlene was born April 10,1942 in Benton Harbor Michigan to the late Noble Wayne Lanham and Sadie Lorene Long Lanham. She was preceded in death by her son, Tim Roy Scruggs and her brothers Dewayne, and Darrell Lanham.
Darlene graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1961 and got her license to be a beautician at the same time. She cut hair for many years before later in life transitioning to driving school buses in both Florida and Tennessee. Some of her favorite memories and stories were about driving children to and from school and the gifts she received from the kids over the years. Darlene was a member of the Kannapolis Church of Christ. She loved to sing and listen to Christian music. Everyone who knew her loved her and said she was a ray of sunshine with a beautiful smile lighting up any room.
Survivors include: brother Dewight Lanham, daughter Robin Privette (Jessie), son Vince Edwards, daughter in-laws Vanessa Collier, Loriann Conticelli Scruggs, Lee Ann Edwards, Grandchildren, Lori Dawn Privette, Amber Scruggs Boice (Ben), Alexandra Scruggs Amentler (Jason), William Scruggs, Alana Scruggs, Christopher Yost, Mark Edwards, great grandchildren Hannah Boice, Henry Boice, Noah Ball, Rose Yost, Cataleya Yost, Thomas Yost.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, Sunday April 27, 2025, for a celebration of life at Kannapolis Church of Christ.
