Frank M. Babuska Of Pelham, New York December 13, 2024 – Age 90
Frank M. Babuska, a beloved resident of Pelham, New York, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2024, at the age of 90. Born in Budapest, Hungary, on February 8th 1934, Frank was the only child of John and Helen Babuska. At the age of 18, Frank emigrated to the United States with his parents, eager to start a new life. Shortly after arriving, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where his knowledge of German led to him being stationed in Germany. It was there, in a small town, that Frank met and married his wife of 65 years, Ingeburg.
After returning to the United States, Frank and Ingeburg settled in Manhattan before eventually moving to Pelham, where they raised their two children.
Frank had a passion for model trains that nothing short of impressive. A true enthusiast, he spent countless hours building and expanding his collection. His love of trains was matched only by his love for the beach, his family, and his bike rides around town. He was a proud officer of Yonkers Schwaben Club where he and Ingeburg spent many hours dancing the night away.
Frank will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was known for his creative spirit, strong character, and ability to tell captivating stories which will leave a lasting impact on all who knew him.
He is survived by his son, Frank (Susan) Babuska, and his son-in-law, Tom Quatroni. Frank will be dearly missed by his six grandchildren: TJ, Rachel, and Robert Quatroni, Kira, Katie, and Frankie Babuska, and his nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ingeburg, and his daughter, Yvonne Quatroni.
A celebration of Frank’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Ave., Pelham, NY, on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church located at 575 Fowler Ave, Pelham, NY 10803. Interment will follow at Kensico Cemetery.
