Frank Bassett Baird was born on January 9, 1938 to Everett and Susie Marie Baird in Cowley, Wyoming. He passed away peacefully on August 17, 2024 surrounded by loved ones after a two year fight with lung cancer.
Frank served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Northern States Mission (Ohio). He served in many capacitates of the church including bishop and temple worker.
Frank married Georgia Dickson in 1962. In 1970 he moved his family to California and settles in North Edwards after completing his degree in education at BYU. After 54 years of marriage, Georgia passed away. In 2017 Frank married Carol Dickson Porter and moved to Murray, Utah.
Frank taught Industrial Arts classes for the Muroc Joint Unified School District for 30 plus years which included wood shop, metal shop, drafting, and math. His talent for teaching and woodworking was well known by all who knew him. He had a love for creating and enjoyed sharing his talents.
Frank was preceded in death by his first wife Georgia Dickson Baird and survived by his current wife Carol Dickson Porter Baird, his sisters Rhea Wille and Alice Brownell and his children Michelle (Douglas) Clay, Wenatchee, WA, Diane Wammack, Snohomish, WA, Carl (Krista) Baird, Gering, NE, Louise (Robert) Miller, Lehi, UT, Frank (Shanna) Baird, Vancouver, WA, Emma (Jonathan) Sherrill, Orem, UT, Eileen Harrell, Navarre, FL, 30 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, Carol's 12 children, 58 grandchilren, and 50 great-granchildren.
His absence will be felt by all.
Funeral services will be held on Friday August 23, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 495 East 5600 South, Murray, UT, at 11:00a,. Viewing to be held the night before at the same location between 6:00-8:00pm.
Interment and graveside service will be held Friday at 1:00pm, at the Lehi City Cemetery, 110 North 400 East, Lehi, Utah.
