Frank Victor Dominic Bezi, 81, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. Frank was born in Mishawaka on May 22, 1940, to the late Domenico and Marian (Zirille) Bezi. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Louise (Martino) Bezi and brother, Daniel Bezi. On July 27, 2002, he married the former Patricia (O'Parker) Wisniewski who survives. Also surviving are his daughters, Sherry and Stacie Bezi; stepdaughters, Mary (Sean) Serrahn and Karen Wisniewski; 2 grandchildren, Laney and Adelaide; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Frank was a lifetime area resident and a 1958 graduate of Mishawaka High School. He was a United States Navy veteran, serving his country on the USS Randolph off the East Coast between 1959 and 1961. In July 1961, the USS Randolph was also the recovery ship after splashdown in the Caribbean for America's second manned space flight carrying astronaut Virgil Grissom. Frank was very proud of his service and was mostly frequently outdoors wearing his Navy Veteran cap.
Frank worked various maintenance positions at Wheelabrator's, Ball Ban, and the County City Building before retiring from Crowe Chizek in 2005.
A loving family man and friend, he was most joyful helping others and his family. He visited and helped his mother, enjoyed building things, and lent his hand to neighbors. His lifetime hobbies included working outside doing yard work and staying active. Notre Dame football and Cubs baseball were also favorite pastimes, and he often went to Cubs games with his young family through his work at Wheelabrator's. He also enjoyed vacations to amusement parks including Pennsylvania's Hersheypark with his daughters and the 4-H fair with his granddaughters.
Frank lived a fulfilling life post-retirement with wife Patricia and friends. They enjoyed dancing Friday and Saturday nights at the local American Legion #284 and taking trips to Holland, MI, Brown County, IN, and Gatlinburg, TN. He loved playing with and watching his grandchildren. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family will receive friends 5-7 PM on Friday, March 18, 2022, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544. Family is requesting that masks be worn at all times. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 AM on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Queen of Peace Church, 4508 Vistula Road, Mishawaka, IN 46544 with Father John Eze officiating. Visitation at the church will be 1 hour prior to the service. Frank will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery with military honors.
