Frank Borally Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes - Willoughby on Jan. 19, 2026.
Frank J. Borally III passed away suddenly on January 15, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, loyalty, and service that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Frank was the loving and devoted husband of Kathleen Borally (née Kelleher), his partner, best friend, and greatest joy for the past 31 years. Together, they formed a remarkable team-one built on unwavering commitment, mutual respect, and deep affection. Their marriage stands as a testament to what love, partnership, and devotion should truly embody.

He was a cherished and proud father to Kyle (Gigi) Borally, Francesca Borally, and Alexa Borally. Every conversation with Frank inevitably led back to his children, whom he adored beyond measure. Being their father was his greatest honor, and his pride in them knew no bounds.

Frank was the adored son of Frank and Georgianne Borally, to whom he showed extraordinary devotion. He included his parents in every aspect of his family's life, spending genuine time with them each day-not out of obligation, but out of love. He was also the beloved son-in-law of John and Joyce Kelleher and brother-in-law of Patrick Kelleher.

He was a dear brother to Kelly Borally, Christopher Borally (Pauline Saleri), and Patrick Borally (Kathleen Lawless), and a loving uncle to Devon Kelleher (Sarah Sliman), Megan Kelleher, Timothy Kelleher, Connor Borally, Patrick Borally, Georgia Borally, and Brennan Borally.

Frank grew up working in the family business, Borally's Catering, where he developed a deep knowledge of and passion for the food and hospitality industry-wisdom passed down from his grandfather, father, and extended family. This foundation shaped a career rooted in service and relationships. Over the years, Frank served others through many roles, including Borally's Catering; Flight Options as Food Service Manager; owner and operator of the Purple Shamrock I and II; food service manager for the SW Headquarters building; and ultimately as a Senior Sales Representative for Dubick Fixture & Supply, specializing in commercial kitchen and restaurant equipment.

Frank lived a life of service-always. His favorite responses were simply "Sure" and "Yes," because helping others was not something he hesitated to do; it was who he was. He was always there, often without being asked, offering his time, knowledge, generosity, and unwavering positivity.

A lifelong and passionate Cleveland sports fan, Frank loved the Browns, Cavaliers, and Guardians, tailgates, road trips, and being in the stands with friends and family. Cavs games brought special joy-especially halftime shows like Red Panda or the "Man in the Box," moments that left him laughing until it hurt. He loved sports betting, a passion proudly inherited from his mother, who seemed to know every point spread imaginable.

Frank embraced life fully. He loved the Ohio Islands, golf, ski trips in his unmistakable neon one-piece powder suit, late-night pizza, the Feast of the Assumption in Little Italy, and Wednesday nights before Thanksgiving. He cherished Thailand trips with Kathy and close friends, long road trips, and evenings spent sharing great meals and drinks at restaurants where the owners always knew Frank by name. A gifted cook, he could grill over 100 steaks-perfectly cooked, flipped only once-without breaking a sweat. And though he spoke loudly, it was simply "the way Frank rolled," and it always brought a smile.

Above all else, Frank will be remembered for his positivity. Not one memory of him is marked by anger or bitterness-only happiness, laughter, and optimism. He always made the best of every situation and carried himself with kindness, generosity, and joy. Though he faced his own struggles, Frank continued to move forward, working quietly and courageously to overcome adversity, never letting it define him.

Frank J. Borally III leaves behind an immeasurable void, but also an enduring example of how to live-with love, service, loyalty, and joy.

The Funeral Mass for Frank will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Gesu, 2470 Miramar Boulevard, University Heights, Ohio 44118.

His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.

My deepest condolences to the Borally family. I apologize that I just learned of his passing today as I would have shared thoughts sooner.

Frank was my "go-to guy" for all things food related. I met Frank while pricing commercial glass front refrigerators and freezers for Hunger Network's MidTown Market, just down the street on Euclid from Dubick.

He was an amazing person, a joy to work with from start to finish, and always made sure we were happy with our purchases. I remember one time he even hopped in his car at a moment's notice and personally came to our site for a lightbulb in a cooler that needed replaced! This was exceptional service for an organization like ours because we are a small nonprofit - but he treated you like you were his best customer.

Naturally, I reached back out to Frank for trusted repeat business time and time again. Near the end of 2025, I was working on our next project with him - building out our Food Rescue Kitchen. I'll be thinking of you when we cut the ribbon to celebrate the opening.

Frankie. You were always there with a flash of a smile and a quick joke. You had a personality that one rarely gets to experience. If only we all could live with that kind of light. I will miss you buddy. Rest easy.

I am so very sad to hear this news. Frank has always been a very genuine human being who cared about others. I´ve known him for many years and at the point when I was also a restaurant owner, there were times where we would connect with conversations on various hospitality issues. He was always supportive of my venue as I supported his when he had The Purple Shamrock. I have not seen him for a long time, although I have the upmost respect for not only him, but for the entire Borally family. I can only imagine the hurt that they are going through with this loss. My condolences go out to each and every one of them. He will be sorely missed. Great guy. God bless.

This is devastating. My deepest condolences to his family. I knew Frank professionally from the foodservice industry for many years. He was a genuinely great guy. The coworkers that knew him closely, recognized him as the unofficial mayor of CLE. He knew everyone and everyone he knew loved him. He is a genuinely great person that will truly be missed. MC

Dear Borally Family,
My deepest Sympathy for this heartbreaking loss.
All of these stories from childhood and onward certainly describe an Angelic Soul. How lucky and blessed for all of family and friends to have known him. I was lucky enough to meet him. I have a great feeling we would have all been great friends ( especially if we lived in Ohio).
Over the years, My sister Pauline would refer to him as Frankie... and continuously described him as having a Heart of gold, giving personality and being Full of Life. Especially during their wonderful time together, in Ohio, this past Thanksgiving. Forever Rest in Peace,Frankie.

With Love,Kristin & Raul

Borally family. Please accept my condolences. Even though I never met Frank, he sounds like a man I would have liked to have as a friend. He is with our Lord now. He fulfilled what the Lord had intended for him to do while he was here. R I P Mr. Borally.

My sincere condolences. I have great memories of Frank when he worked in the cafeteria at Sherwin Williams. We always reminisced about family. My Mom worked for the Borallys in 1936, dropping out of high school at sixteen to work in their first shop as my Grandmother and Albert's Mom were good friends. Many Blessing to his family.

Kathy, Frank Jr. & Georgeanne.....I received the awful news while in Naples, Florida, and have not been able to get you all out of my mind since. I remember so many things about Frank; too many things to share. But among the things I remember most; writing a personal card to him for his college graduation and telling him he was one of the classiest guys I ever met; watching him ride around Acacia in a golf cart with Kathy while they were dating, with my son DJ right with them for every round; him standing with DJ as his sponsor for confirmation; my promise and pledge to him that I would never get "cheap" in my old age"; and my all time favorite when he and Kathy as a surprise showed up in Philly for DJ´s Villa Nova Graduation. I am so sorry I cannot be there for the Gesu service. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Especially Kathy. Paula sends her love and sympathy as well. Mr O
