Frank P. Bozza, Jr., 85 of Nutley, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025, at his home. Born and raised in Jersey City, he was the son of the late Frank and Agnes (McMann) Bozza. Frank came to Nutley 57 years ago and was the Director of Special Services and a school psychologist for the Lyndhurst NJ School System before retiring. He earned Masters Degrees both in Education and Rehabilitation Counselling from Seton Hall University and attended the Immaculate Conception Seminary. Frank was always active in church and community, was past president of the parish council at Holy Family, member of the Holy Family Adult Advisory Committee as well as a long-time eucharistic minister. He was a member and past president of the Nutley UNICO, former member and officer with the Nutley Lions Club, member of the Nutley Elks Lodge #1290 and past president of the Nutley Tennis Club. He was also certified as basketball referee by the IABBO (International Association of Basketball Officials). Frank was a proud U.S. Army veteran, serving in Japan as a Chinese linguistics specialist.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Grace (Restuccia) Bozza, his brother, Vincent Bozza. Frank was loved and a favorite of his 8 surviving nieces and nephews, 16 great nieces and great nephews and 5 great grandnieces and great grandnephews. He had a special place in his heart for great grandniece and great grandnephew Sofia and August (AJ) whom he helped care for from birth.
Funeral from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 278 Centre St. Nutley on Thursday February 6, 2025, at 9:30 am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, Nutley at 10:30 am followed by burial at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday February 5 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
