Frank D. Buttari

Frank D. Buttari, 76, of Willoughby, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on December 18, 2025. Born April 8, 1949, to the late Dominic and Angela (nee Cervone) Buttari, Frank prioritized his wife, children, and grandchildren above all else.

Frank was the loving husband of 55 years to Karen (nee Mocarski); supportive father to Scott, Stacy, and Sheryl (Tom) Trost; devoted grandfather to Jared, Connor, Sophia, Jaime, and Erin; beloved brother to Gary and Loree (nee Schmeling), Karen (nee Shaffer) and the late Carmen; respected uncle and cousin to many, but most importantly, a friend to all who knew him.

Frank was the Director of Supply Chain Management at Northrop Grumman Corporation for 41 years, retiring in 2012. He was a cornerstone of their aerospace and defense divisions located across the US-for undersea, land-based, air and space vehicles and systems. Frank was a man of sharp intellect and steady character.

Frank earned his B.S. in Management from David N. Myers College, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was designated an Ohio Board of Regents Fellow. He earned his M.B.A. from Lake Erie College.

In his retirement, Frank shared his love for libraries as a member of the Willoughby-Eastlake Public Library Board of Trustees from 2014 to 2025. With his expertise in business management, he played an important role in guiding the libraries through several renovation projects and the acquisition of a property for the library's administrative offices in downtown Willoughby. He also empowered local entrepreneurs as a mentor for SCORE.

The family will receive friends at The Orlando-Donsante-Previte Funeral Home 29550 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe, on Monday, December 22 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 29850 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp. following mass.
