MR. FRANK A. HARTLEY Mr. Frank A. Hartley, age 92, of Ferguson died Saturday, September 12, 2009. Funeral services will be held 2:00, Tuesday, September 15, at Sharon Walker Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul R. Laws and the Rev. J. C. Greene officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30. Burial, with military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1142 will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home from 6:30 until 8:30 Monday night. Mr. Hartley was born in Wilkes County, May 27, 1917, to Thomas and Ida Walker Hartley. He served in the US Army during World War II. Mr. Hartley was the former owner of Hartley Brothers Sawmill. He was a member of Sharon Walker Baptist Church and of the Mt. Pleasant Masonic Lodge #573. In addition to his parents and wife, Connie Faye Walker Hartley, Mr. Hartley was preceded in death by three sons, Danny, David, and Tommy Hartley; two grandsons, Shane and Casey Hartley; three great grandsons, John Luna, Trent Bumgarner, and Grayson Bumgarner. Mr. Hartley is survived by two daughters, Sue H. Soots and husband, Andy of Wilkesboro and Teresa H. Triplett of Lenoir; six sons, Phillip F. Hartley and wife, Wanda of North Wilkesboro, Gene H. Hartley and wife, Betty of Boomer, James L. Hartley and wife, Janet of Wilkesboro, Mike S. Hartley and wife, Wanda of Ferguson, Charles W. Hartley and wife, Linda of Ferguson, Mark A. Hartley and wife, Caren of Boomer; 32 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; eight great, great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jason Hartley, Kevin Hartley, Derek Hartley, Michael Hartley, Aaron Soots, Matthew Hartley, Stephen Hartley, Anthony Hartley, and Ethan Hartley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sharon Walker Baptist Church, 8780 West NC Hwy 268, Boomer, NC 28606.
