     It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Frank Wayne James, Sr. Mr. James went home to be with The Lord on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026, at the age of 79.

     Wayne was born in Florence, a son of the late Charlie & Dorothy Harold James. He retired from the trucking industry after 40+ years of service. Following retirement, he served as a crossing guard for students at North Hartsville Elementary School. Wayne loved going to auctions, especially the one in Pine Ridge. He was a member of Open Door Ministries.

     Survivors include his children, Waynette (Tommy) Oates and Frank Wayne, Jr. (Barbie) James; grandchildren: Nicholas Oates, Fara James, and Jesse James.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lola T. James; siblings: Charles James, Louise Amerson, and Ann Jackson.

     His memorial service will be conducted at 5 o’clock on Friday afternoon, February 6th, 2026, from Open Door Ministries, with Reverend Daniel Poston officiating. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The family also welcomes friends to stop by the house following the service at 1136 Byrd St., Hartsville.

     Memorials may be made to Open Door Ministries at 1555 Lakeview Blvd., Hartsville, SC 29550.
