Frank "Gene" Kaczmarski, age 88, longtime resident of Peninsula, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025. Gene is the beloved husband of 64 years to Evelyn (nee Egleston); devoted father of Sharon (Daniel) Krachinsky, Kathleen (Jeffrey) Snedeker and Paul (Michelle) Kaczmarski; cherished grandfather of Laurie, Kimberly, Ryan and Hannah; great grandfather of Jaedyn, Ruthie, Lincoln and Cason; loving brother of Robert (Marylou) Kaczmarski and the late Leonard (Joann, surviving) Kaczmarski; dear uncle and great uncle of many.
Gene served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from General Motors after 37 years where he worked as a mechanical engineer. Gene was an avid bowler. He loved music and his greatest joy was playing polkas on the button box with fellow musicians.
A Memorial Gathering to celebrate Gene's life will be held 2-5PM Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Johnson-Romito Funeral Home, 19 E. Main Street, Hudson, OH. The family will also receive friends 10-11AM Monday, February 17, 2025 at Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 6034 Locust St., Peninsula, OH 22364 where Gene's Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00AM.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Gene's name to the Mother of Sorrows Restoration Fund at the church.
