Frank Ellsworth Lamport

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Frank Ellsworth Lamport on April 25th, 2025, age 70, of Schertz, Texas. Frank was born in St. Clair, Illinois to Ellsworth and Verla Lamport on October 10th, 1954. 

Frank graduated from Samuel Clemens High School in his hometown of Schertz, TX. After graduation, on September 27th, 1973, Frank enlisted in the United States Army. During his enlisted tenure, he worked in Short-Range Air Defense Artillery until acquiring the rank of Staff Sergeant. Frank then went on to complete a four-year degree in just two years, attending Southwest Texas State University from 1983 to 1985. Upon completion of his degree, Frank commissioned as an Army Officer, serving as a Quartermaster and Logistics Officer until February 1st, 1998. During his time in service, he earned the coveted Bronze Star Medal for exceptionally meritorious achievement in support of actions against a hostile force in the Persian Gulf from September 20th, 1990 to April 8th, 1991. Additionally, he earned the Meritorious Service Medal, four Army Commendation Medals, three Army Achievement Medals, three Army Good Conduct Medals, two National Defense Service Medals, a Southwest Asia Service Medal with three bronze service stars, a Noncommissioned Officer's Professional Development Ribbon, an Army Service Ribbon, two Overseas Service Ribbons, a Kuwait Liberation Medal Saudi Arabia, and a Kuwait Liberation Medal. 

In September of 1988, during the midst of a fruitful military career, Frank entered into a beautiful marriage with his wife LeeAnna Cheryl Lamport. They would go on to cherish nearly 37 unforgettable years together, raising three amazing children and traveling the world. With LeeAnna and his children by his side, Frank was able to complete nearly 25 years of military service, and another 17 years with the United States Postal Service. Frank's life following his retirement was full of his favorite activities: hunting, fishing, shooting, handy-man work, cruising, traveling, and the occasional pedicure with LeeAnna. He was known by many to be a one-of-a-kind family man with the heart of a lion, an iron will, and incomparable determination. 

Frank is survived by his wife, LeeAnna; his children, Micki, Shannon, and Tiann; his sister, Ann; his eight grandchildren; Aiyana, Ian, Brianna, Savannah, Ava, Kira, Chloe, and Hayden; and his dogs Bear, Leo, and Nikita. He is preceded in death by his mother, Verla; his father, Ellsworth; his brother, Samuel; his sister, Dorcas. Of all his endless achievements, Frank was most gratified in the life he created with his loved ones. His determined work ethic, boundless generosity, and steadfast love, impacted everyone that knew him. Frank’s legacy lives on in the countless lives he inspired, the lessons he spoke, and the deep roots of family he so carefully nurtured. Although he is no longer in our sight, his spirit will be there to guide and uplift us— an indefinite reminder of a truly remarkable man who gave his all to those he loved.

The Funeral Service for Frank will take place at 12:00PM, with visitation to begin at 11:00AM, on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at Schertz Funeral Home. Interment to immediately follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
