Frank Larobina Obituary

Frank Michael Larobina
Frank was born on March 12, 1948, in Arena, Italy and came to America when he was six years old. He passed away on October 14, 2024. Frank was a lifelong resident of Stamford until recently, when he and his wife moved to Rhode Island to be closer to their Grandson, Joseph.
Frank was an avid fisherman, hunter and car lover. He especially loved his purple Challenger. Frank loved telling stories to anyone who would listen. He graduated from Rippowam High School and went on to Wright Technical school.
Throughout his life, Frank had several careers in construction and tool and die. Additionally, he worked for Champion International, Greenwich Catholic School, Greenwich High Scoot and retired from the Town of Greenwich, Parkway school. One of his greatest joys was being surrounded by all the students, who fondly called him Mr. Frank, as well as the teachers and the custodial staff. He was truly a great man always wanting to help in any way he could.
He was predeceased by his mother and father, Michelina and Giuseppe Larobina, son Christian Larobina, and sister Catherine Vartuli.
Frank is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joyce Drotar Larobina, son Matthew (Marissa) Larobina, beloved Grandson, Joseph Edward, son Eric (Ashley) Larobina, sister Theresa Agostino and brother Domenico.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 19th from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Mrytle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902.
In lieu of flowers, Frank's request was that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org/donate.

Frank was my brother's best friend (David Basford). Frank, David & I all attended Rippowam High School. I remember Frank's GOLD CAMARO from back in the late 60's. When my brother went to Vietnam: he had Frank watching over me.

My condolences to his family. He was definitely loved very much by the Basford Family. We will meet again, dear Frank; my happy memories of you will hold me till then.

Joyce, Matthew, Eric and family,

My condolences on Frank´s passing. I remember him well (and Joyce) well from Champion. He always had a smile to share or eager to lend a helping hand. So glad he was able to enjoy time with his grandson and entire family.
May memories of happy times bring you comfort in the coming months.
