Frank “Jake” Meadows, 80, passed away peacefully in his home, his dog at his feet, surrounded by family telling stories of the “good ole days”, on January 6, 2025.
Frank was born on March 13, 1944 in Woodrumtown to the late Fred L. and Gracie Mae Gill Meadows. He retired from the local construction union 453. In his younger years he had a passion for hunting and fishing. Frank was a generous man who loved to work on his land, grilling out, playing horseshoes, and tinkering in his garage. He thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with his family and friends. Frank loved trading horses with his grandson Josh. He was loved by so many people.
Preceded in death by one sister, Cronie Petrey; two brothers, Fred and Jackie Meadows; two half-sisters, Hazel Lilly and Kathy Yates and two half-brothers, Fred and Johnny Meadows.
Frank is survived by his wife Evelyn Marie Meadows; children, Frank Meadows Jr. (Shawna), Timothy Meadows (Libby), Michael Meadows (Becky) and Vicki Meadows-Reliford (Melvin); grandchildren, Jennifer Sparks (Tommy), Meghan Wheeler (Hannah), Joshua Meadows, Hailey Wheeler, Jacob Meadows (Ashton); along with six pride and joy great grandchildren, Alyssa, Gabe, Josie Ann, Nora Lane, Maverick and Lynnox; siblings, Nellie Martin, Jessie Meadows (Sue), Oscar Meadows, Martha Cooper (Delbert), Charles “Ray” Meadows (Libby) and Goldie Furrow (Phil); several nieces and nephews. A great niece, April Lilly whom he held a special place in his heart for.
We would like to thank his brother Jessie Meadows for all the time he dedicated to driving out of state for Frank’s treatments and for the care and comfort he brought to our family with his presence. Vicki Meadows-Reliford, his daughter who dedicated so much of herself to the care and comfort of her dad. To his loving wife of 60 years, Marie, who took care of him around the clock, never leaving his side. They loved each other with their whole hearts.
