On Saturday, November 9, 2024, Frank Henry Meins Jr., loving father, beloved PawPaw, brother, uncle, and friend, entered into eternal rest at the age of 76 in his home.
He was born on July 31, 1948, to Frank and Lucy Meins in Helena, AR. His family moved to California, as a child, where he found a passion for surfing in Huntington Beach. As he grew up, he followed in his father's passion for cars, motorcycles, and mechanical work. After graduating from Westminster High School in 1966, he joined the Navy in 1967 and was stationed in Japan. He proudly served his country until September 1972 as a Petty Officer Second Class Aviation Electrician.
Upon his release he worked his way to Stuttgart, Arkansas where he met his bride to be Jo (Johnson) Meins. They were wed on July 28, 1973 and were happily married for 51 years. Frank had a variety of jobs in his lifetime including cameraman at Channel 11 TV station in Little Rock, manager at Southwestern Bell, and most recently as an electrical specialist at Lowes.
When he wasn't spending time with his family, he could always be found tinkering with his motorcycles, hunting and fishing, camping with his family and friends, taking his three kids boating, riding roller coasters, and playing and winning spades with his best partner, Jo. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, witty phrases, love of motorcycles and family.
Frank Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Sr. and Lucy Meins. Survivors are his wife Jo and their three children, Nathan (Ashley) Meins, Carmen Meins-Neal, and Wally (Erin) Meins. Frank was very proud of his five grandchildren Dax Neal, Caty and Dagney Meins, Calvin and Collin Meins, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, AR, at 10:30 am. To honor Frank, the family asks everyone to wear flannel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hope Cancer Resources, 5835 W Sunset Ave, Springdale, AR 72762.
