Frank Gary Nadal, 72, of Durango, Colorado died peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer on November 29, 2023. Frank was born in Paterson, NJ on June 10, 1951 to Frank J and Mae (Sterbentz) Nadal.
Frank attended New Paltz High School in New Paltz, NY before studying Electrical Engineering at Villanova University. After college, he settled in Northern Virginia where he spent his entire career working in the US defense industry. In 2010, he formed his own company, Axios, Inc, with 3 other colleagues. The company was sold in 2016 at his retirement.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Glenn. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Ellen Nadal and children Frank J Nadal of Cumming, GA; Nicole Zinn (Michael) of Sammamish, WA ; and Andrea Mosher (Jason) of Durango, CO along with 6 grandchildren.
Frank was an avid golfer spending many years golfing at International Country Club in Fairfax, VA and The Glacier Club in Durango, CO. He was a three-letter athlete in high school and enjoyed all sports including his beloved Washington Redskins and Villanova basketball. Frank enjoyed telling stories of his life growing up on the farm, indulging in the finer things in life including traveling the world, and honing his craft as a cocktail aficionado.
Per Frank’s wishes, there will be no funeral service but a Celebration of Life will be held at both International Country Club and The Glacier Club. Dates to be determined.
His wine collection will be enjoyed by his family and friends in the years to come and we'll raise our glass to him.
