Frank J Nagy

Frank J. Nagy age 92 of Dixon died Wednesday, April 11, 2024 at Liberty Court in Dixon.
He was born May 14, 1931 in Dixon to Andrew and Agnes (Hartai) Nagy.
At age 19, Frank was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals Minor League Baseball team as a catcher before being drafted by the military.
Frank proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean conflict.
Frank married Evelyn Hinds on Sept. 4, 1955 in Dixon.
Frank owned and operated Nagy and Wentling Construction from 1959 to 2007.
He was a member of Dixon American Legion Post, Elks Lodge, and the Dixon Country Club.
Frank was a pilot and loved taking his family and friends flying.
He also enjoyed golfing, annual fishing trips to Canada, and working in his garden.
During the summers, Frank's pool was always the place to be for his family and friends; all were welcomed, and no invitation needed.
He was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and friend, and he will be dearly missed by many.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn, children Joel (Danette) Nagy, James Nagy, Mary (Jamie) Anderson, Paul (Deana) Nagy all of Dixon, Elizabeth (Rick) Paisley of Gurnee, Pat (Liz) Nagy of Byron, 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers John, Louis, and Steve Nagy and one sister Mary (Nagy) McBride.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life and 21-gun salute will be held at a later date. Details will be posted on this page as arrangements are made.
