Frank John Ochmann
January 14, 1950 – January 9, 2026
Frank John Ochmann, U.S. Navy (Retired), beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on January 14, 1950, in Honolulu, Hawai'i, Frank lived a life grounded in service, humility, and deep devotion to his family and community.
Frank proudly served in the United States Navy, completing active duty from August 1968 to January 1989 and continuing in the Inactive Reserve until January 1999. His military career created lifelong bonds, and he remained deeply grateful to the VA counselors, clinic staff, and doctors who supported him throughout his life.
After retiring from the Navy, Frank found warmth, connection, and belonging among his friends at Big Kmart 7683, where he was embraced as 'ohana. The kindness and encouragement he received there remained close to his heart.
Frank is survived by his loving daughters Tammy Lee Worthy, Bernadette Luces Cabiles, and Regina Luces Allen. He was preceded in death by his sons Brian Keith Ochmann and Frank John Ochmann III.
He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Patrick Cabiles, Brandon Cabiles, Justin Sprinkle, Jordan Sprinkle Redman, Braxton Gonard, Dillon Monroe, Trace Monroe, Jeremiah Kaua Kili Nahe A Ke Anuenue Ochmann, and Zephaniah Unahekapa O Kamakani O Kamuela Ochmann.
He is lovingly reunited with his grandson John Kekai Hawanawana Ochmann.
Frank was also blessed with five great grandsons-Zac Cabiles, Zayne Cabiles, Sylas Sprinkle, Cruz Redman, and Theo Redman-who brought him tremendous joy. His face always lit up when he spoke of them.
He cherished the memory of his siblings who preceded him in death-Wanda, Bruce, Ronnie, and Jean-along with their spouses.
He is survived by his siblings Frances, Robert, Teri, and Billy, and their spouses, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Above all, Frank treasured his beloved wife, Virginia. She was his companion, sparring partner, best friend, and the love of his life. He often said that although life's road could be rough, she made the journey smooth. Through God's grace, Frank now joins Virginia in eternal peace and love.
Frank leaves behind a message of heartfelt gratitude to all who touched his life. He wished to thank everyone for their kindness, patience, and love, and hoped he had shown how much each person meant to him.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a proud father and grandfather, a loving great grandfather, a loyal friend, and a man whose heart overflowed with love, gratitude, and aloha.
Aloha and God bless every one of you.
A Hui Hou.
