Frank Olson Obituary
Frank William Olson, age 95, passed away peacefully at his home in Warminster on August 25, 2025. Born in Philadelphia to the late John and Gerda Olson (née Gustafsson), Frank was predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years, Jane Olson (née O'Neill).
He is survived by his devoted children: Rev. James P. Olson, Eric Olson and his wife Maleita (née Gousie), and Nancy Olson; as well as four cherished grandchildren: Timothy, Kalina, Daniel, and William Olson. Frank is also survived by his brother John Olson and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings Alfred Olson, Mae Olson, Greta Spicer (née Olson), and Florence Olson.
Frank was raised in Philadelphia and spent his summers at the Jersey Shore, where he enjoyed boating and fishing off Little Beach Island. A passionate basketball player in his youth, he played in neighborhood games and various leagues. He served honorably in the United States Army, patrolling the Panama Canal during the Korean War era.
Frank dedicated 43 years of service to PECO, rising from the mailroom to become Building Management Supervisor for the Eastern Division. It was there he met his future wife, Jane. Known for his skillful handiwork and love of tinkering, Frank could fix just about anything-earning the affectionate nickname "Pop-Pop's Fix It Shop."
A man of deep faith and devotion, Frank converted to Catholicism and was a committed parishioner of St. Joseph Parish in Warrington for over five decades. He was known for his steadfast prayer life and for remembering others' intentions by name. Above all, Frank was a family man who made countless personal sacrifices to ensure a better life for his children and grandchildren.
In retirement, Frank enjoyed solving Sudoku puzzles, following current events on Twitter, tracking his family's whereabouts on his iPad, tapping along to his favorite tunes, and cheering on the Phillies. He also treasured weekly golf outings with his brothers and was proud to have shot close to his age in his eighties-a testament to his enduring spirit.
Frank's life was one of love, faith, and service. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
