Frank L. Pitcher, 93, of Medina, passed away on March 31, 2025, at the Villages of Orleans in Albion.
He was born on April 8, 1931, to the late Harry and Charlotte Pitcher. Frank graduated from Niagara Falls High School, Class of 1949. On October 21, 1951, he married the late Phyllis J. Sayes and they were longtime Medina residents. Frank worked as a supervisor for FMC in Middleport.
Frank was in the Army National Guard and during that time was a Golden Gloves Boxer. He was everyone’s grandpa and could always be relied on to fix anything. He was a jack of all trades and always helped with any family home renovations. Frank had a great sense of humor and loved to sing Frank Sinatra and Mitch Miller songs. He was also fond of ice skating, particularly barrel jumping. Frank enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and being near the water.
He was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis Pitcher in 2017; son, Richard Pitcher Sr. in 2022; sister, Genevieve Arico; and brother, Harold Pitcher.
Frank is survived by his daughter, Linda (late Charles W., Jr.) Moore, daughter-in-law, Linda Pitcher; 6 grandchildren, Christina E. (Michelle Wiseman) Nenni, Laurie (Joe Lugo) Banker, Nicole Poler, Shaun Moore, Richard (Stacey) Pitcher, Jr., Brian (Melinda) Pitcher and Sara (Andrew) Szatkowski; great grandchildren, Tyler Pitcher, Madison Banker, Alyson (Christopher Sacco) Snow, Jacob Girardo, Jacob Pitcher, Gunner Pitcher, Lukin Szatkowski, and Wyatt Szatkowski; sister, Barbara (late Leonard) Rowles, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours for Frank will be held on Monday April 7, from 4-7 pm followed by a memorial service at 7 pm at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina, NY 14103. Interment will be held privately at Boxwood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Frank’s name may be made to Hospice of Orleans, 14080 Rt. 31, Albion, NY 14411.
