Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc. - Pearl River on Jan. 8, 2025.
Frank Joseph Russo, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on January 5, 2025, at the age of 65. He was born on October 25, 1959, in Queens, New York, to Frank and Gaetana Russo. Frank shared his birthday with his wife, Suzanne, and the two celebrated this special connection throughout their 40-year marriage.
A proud veteran, Frank served in the United States Air Force from 1977 to 1981, attaining the rank of Airman 1st Class. After his service, he spent over 30 years as a master mechanic at C.W. Brabender, Inc. in South Hackensack, New Jersey, where his dedication to his craft earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike.
Frank graduated from Northern Valley Regional High School in Old Tappan, New Jersey, in 1977, and later settled in
Pearl River, New York, with his wife Suzanne in 2015. Prior to that, they lived in Nanuet, New York, for nearly two decades. Frank's life was defined by his commitment to his family, his work, and his community.
On November 17, 1984, Frank married the love of his life, Suzanne Fiesel, at St. Margaret of Antioch Church in
Pearl River, New York. Together, they raised their daughter, Jackie, and Frank found great joy in his role as a father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne; his daughter, Jacqueline Jewart, son-in-law Ryan, and granddaughters MacKenzie and Amelia Jewart of Blauvelt, New York; his brothers, Anthony and Steve Russo; his sisters-in-law, Nancy Fiesel and Tiziana Russo; and several cherished nephews and cousins.
Frank had a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures, including his love for trains, watches, and collectibles. He could often be found engrossed in his ever-growing collection of model airplanes and toys with small parts, carefully assembling them with patience and precision. One of Frank's trademarks was his long-winded stories-sometimes meandering and hard to follow-but always filled with humor and charm. They may have tested our patience in the moment, but in the end, they never failed to bring a laugh.
In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his parents-in-law, John and Nancy Fiesel. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, humor, and unwavering support will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A service will be held at Wyman-Fisher Funeral home in Pearl River on January 9, 2025, with visitation from 9-11am, followed by a graveside service at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The
American Heart Association in Frank's honor. https://ahatribute.funraise.org/fundraiser/frank-russo
The Russo family expresses their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support they have received during this difficult time. Frank's memory will forever live in the hearts of his loved ones, and his spirit will continue to guide and inspire them.
