Kyle Christopher McSweeney, aged 37, of Norwood, NJ passed away suddenly. He is survived by his parents Thomas and Cynthia McSweeney (nee DeGloria), his older and younger brothers Ryan and Sean McSweeney, sister in law Lauren McSweeney, and nieces whom he cherished, Taylor and Madison McSweeney.
Kyle was an employee of the State of New Jersey as a Taxation Investigator for 14 years. He was a graduate of Northern Valley Regional High School and later earned his bachelors degree at Qunnapiac University. He was an accomplished wrestler starting at the age of 7 winning numerous tournaments and ultimately winning the State Wrestling Tournament as a freshman in high school. His success resulted in both his brothers to join him in this demanding sport.
Kyle loved spending time at the beach and driving his car wherever the road would take him. He loved music and played guitar from the time he was eight. Kyle had the privilege of meeting his favorite band 311, and created a personal long-term friendship with the band's bassist P-nut. Over the years, he attended over 60 of their concerts across the country. The ultimate gift was playing backstage at Hammerstein Theater in New York City with the bassist P-Nut when he was 17.
Kyle was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan and traveled several times to Dallas to watch his favorite team play in their new stadium. He was there for the first wild card playoff when they prevailed over Donovan McNabb and the Eagles.
In his spare time, Kyle would volunteer for Peace4Paws in Westwood and transport dogs to new adopted homes. Often, he would travel hundreds of miles to help transport dogs in need of new homes. His dedication and contributions were recognized and awarded at their annual fundraiser.
Services will be held at Pizzi Funeral Home in Northvale, NJ on Friday November 1, 2024 from 3-7 pm with a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in Tappan, New York on Saturday November 2, 2024 at 11 am.
