He was born on July 11, 1942, the son of the late Pete and Beatrice (Rich) Sanchez. On February 15, 1964, he married his devoted wife, Elaine (Shearer) Sanchez, and together they shared 61 wonderful years of marriage.
Frank was a proud father to Elicia Sanchez and Elanna Sanchez-Killian (Robert). Known lovingly as "Pappy," he was blessed with grandchildren who brought him endless joy: Cheska Gennusa (Tony), Chyler Killian, Kyra Jackson (Johnny), and Colton Killian. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Jaymin and Ava Jackson, Beckham and Baylan Gennusa, and Revie Myers. He is also survived by his step-grandson, Clint Killian, and step great-grandchildren: Corbin, Casey, Molly, Maddie, and Hailey Killian. Frank was a man of many passions, but none greater than his deep and abiding love for
his family.
He is survived by his siblings Virginia (Sanchez) Alvarado and Walt Sanchez, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Frank was known for his unbelievable smooth as silk voice - a beautiful gift from Jesus that left lasting memories for anyone lucky enough to hear him sing. Gospel music was a constant presence in his life, and his voice brought joy and comfort to many. His deep love for gospel music was not just about performance - it was ministry. His legacy lives on in the songs he loved to sing and the lives he touched through music.
Frank will be remembered for his kind heart, his deep love for family, his musical soul, the way he could light up any room with his presence, and his love for Jesus. His legacy lives on through the countless memories he created and the many lives he touched with warmth, laughter, and love. He is now in the presence of the God he served and sang about for so many years!
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 28, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Cathedral of Praise and Worship, located at 886 East Prospect Street, York, PA. We invite all who knew and loved Frank to join us in celebrating his life and legacy.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cathedral of Praise and Worship in his memory.
