Frank Shaw, 95, of Rumford, RI, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025. He is predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Bette (Andrew) Shaw.
Frank was an avid horse fan, particularly horse racing. Frank moved from Baltimore, Maryland at the age of 15, to Massachusetts to pursue a career as a jockey. He worked at various racetracks across the country, including Narragansett Racetrack and Suffolk Downs, as jockey, trainer, racing official and owner.
Frank was a Mason and a Shriner. He also held a pilot’s license for most of his adult life.
He leaves his adoring daughter, Tracy Shaw Labrador and her husband, Dan, of Warwick, as well as his two greatest treasures, grandsons, Daniel Pulido Labrador, IV and Harry Shaw Labrador.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Requiem Eucharist on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Epiphany, 1336 Pawtucket Ave., Rumford. Interment will follow at Spring Vale Cemetery, Rumford. Visitation is respectfully omitted.
