Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services IncFrank D. Shellhamer, of New Cumberland, PA, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on March 8, 1935, to Ethel (Snavely) and Francis Shellhamer, Frank lived a long and meaningful life rooted in love, service, and faith.
Frank was a proud U.S. Army veteran, and his service to his country was a source of lifelong pride. He also played a unique role as a photographer for the motion picture production, The Big Picture, an experience he valued deeply. A graduate of Palmyra High School, Class of 1953, Frank went on to work as a computer programmer for the federal government at the former Navy Ships Parts Control Center in Mechanicsburg. He had a genuine appreciation for technology and took joy in his work, especially while working at Lockheed Martin in the Aerospace division.
Above all else, Frank was a devoted family man. He cherished his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and found his greatest happiness in being surrounded by those he loved. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—good conversations, sharing stories, watching baseball as a loyal New York Yankees fan, spending time with his dogs, and enjoying meals at his favorite local restaurants. Frank’s warm smile, outgoing nature, and playful charm made people feel seen and valued, and he had a special way of brightening any room he entered.
Frank is survived by his children, Eric S. (Joanne) Shellhamer, Scott U. (Gina) Shellhamer, Monica L. (Rick) Rodriguez, and James “Jim” Geary; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He will also be remembered for his unwavering Christian faith and the kindness and compassion he showed to everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Genevieve (Bruda) Shellhamer, and his brother, James H. Shellhamer.
A graveside service honoring Frank’s life will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on February 19, 2026, at 12:30 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a life well lived and a man who will be deeply missed.
