Frank Tahmoush Obituary

Frank Tahmoush
Frank G. Tahmoush, age 88, of Cheshire, beloved husband of Karen Tahmoush, passed away on May 24, 2025.
Born on June 26, 1936, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Frank was the son of the late Fares Tahmoush and Mary (Nahas) Tahmoush. A proud veteran, Frank served three years in the U.S. Army Ordnance Corps, conducting metallurgical research at the Watertown Arsenal, and was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant in 1961.
Frank earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees in Metallurgy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He began his distinguished career at Wyman-Gordon Company in Worcester, MA, where he was instrumental in developing forging processes for structural parts used in the Moon Landing Module and the SR-71 "Blackbird" spy plane- the first aircraft to fly at 2,000 MPH. His work earned him a patent for the forging process of titanium alloys.
Frank continued his career at Polaroid Corporation in Cambridge, MA, where he dedicated 30 years of service, ultimately retiring in 1996 as Director of Worldwide Purchasing for the Electronics Division.
A man of many passions, Frank loved spending time with his family, golfing, skiing, traveling extensively (including over 40 trips to the Far East), cooking, playing pool with friends at Castle Heights, and reading.
In addition to his loving wife, Karen, Frank is survived by his children, Heather Tahmoush and her spouse, Greg Czapiga, Frank Tahmoush Jr., and David Tahmoush; grandchildren, Drew and Brett Dacunto; siblings, Laurice Fleck, Eileen Tahmoush, and Russ Tahmoush; and nieces, Valerie Giannandrea, Erica Fleck, and Alli Tahmoush-Hughes. He was predeceased by his son, Kevin Tahmoush.
Frank will be remembered for his brilliant mind, warm heart, and the legacy of love and excellence he leaves behind.
