Frank I. Vela Jr.

It is with sadness in our hearts to announce the passing of Frank Ignacio Vela, Jr. Frank passed away on March 17, 2024. He was born on August 10, 1952 to Frank I. Vela and Josephine A. Froboese in San Antonio, Texas. He was a lifelong resident of Floresville, Texas, and his ancestry in Floresville goes back generations. His grandmother's family was one of the original founding families of Floresville.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Josephine Vela; brother-in-law, Walt Glass, of McQueeney, Texas; and many good friends and family.
He is survived by his son, Frank Joseph Vela of San Antonio, Texas; grandsons, Leonardo, Dominic, Able and Elija Vela; sister, Cynthia Vela Glass of Seguin; nieces, Crystal Glass of New Braunfels, Texas and Veronica Glass and husband Graham Garrett of Northford, Connecticut; nephew, Aaron Glass of San Antonio; grand-nieces, Annabelle Dufrene and Claudette Garrett; grand-nephew, John Walter Garrett.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Floresville, Texas. A Funeral Mass will begin there at 1:30 p.m. with Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Floresville, Texas.
Rest in God's Peace Frank (Father, Brother, Uncle, Friend). You will be sorely missed and forever in our hearts and memories.
