Frank Vyvjala Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mission Park Funeral Chapels South, Cemeteries & Crematories on Jul. 17, 2024.
Frankie Julius Vyvjala, 86, of San Antonio, passed away on July 13, 2024, at Parkview Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation in Weimar. Frankie was born in Flatonia on November 9, 1937, the son of Julius and Kathrine Vyvjala. He was the fourth of six children born in a family of two sons and four daughters.
He was preceded in death by his Wife, Josie Michalec; daughters: Kimberly Vyvjala and Amy Vyvjala; father, Julius F. Vyvjala; mother, Katherine (Nichols) Kubenka; sisters: Julia Stryk, Olga Jasek, and Dorothy Migl.
He is survived by his five grandchildren: Brianna Vyvjala, Dylan Vyvjala, Berlyn Garcia, Stefan Garcia, Braylin Garcia and Son-in-Law Albert Garcia; Sister Ann Bratton, and brother Daniel Vyvjala.
Frankie graduated from Flatonia High School in 1956 and went to work for Smith Farms. He then moved to San Antonio and made his career at Ingram Iron Works as a machinist.
His favorite pastime was fishing, and he became quite the angler passing on his techniques to his wife & daughters. Frank also loved spending time caring for his yard including his pecan and fruit trees and was happy to share all of it with his family and friends.
He had a great passion for the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed dancing and listening to Czech music on the radio and playing his favorite Czech CD's.
Frankie was a member of San Jose Mission Catholic Church and devoted his time there to mass, picnics, and other fundraising events.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at both Parkview Manor Nursing and Hospice Brazos Valley for watching over Frank with tenderness & compassion. Their kindness toward him and his entire family is greatly appreciated.

I send my love, prayers, and sympathy to all the family on the loss of your precious dad, granddad, brother, uncle, and friend to many. I was privileged to have attended school with Frankie, and to have graduated Flatonia High School along with him and 30+ others in 1956. I remember him as a handsome young man sporting a "flat top" hairstyle, being very polite and gentlemanly, and that he and I were "lookin´ good" as he escorted me to the Jr-Sr High School Prom. Memories are a wonderful thing, and I know your memories of this special guy will be of great comfort to you in the days ahead. God bless!
