Frank William Werstein, age 92 of Maybee, passed away September 6, 2024.
Born February 18, 1932 in Maybee, Frank was the son of Anthony and Margaret (Franzen) Werstein. Frank faithfully served our country in the United States Army with the 811 Engineering 931st Group C, Company 4, achieving the rank of Corporal. He married the love of his life, Mary Louise Norris, on October 12, 1957. Frank was a Carpenter for his entire career. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maybee, had been the past commander for VFW Post 4361 and later a member of VFW Post 1138 Monroe. He was an avid University of Michigan Football fan and a NASCAR fan. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking, gardening, playing cards, shooting pool, mushroom hunting and deer hunting but his most treasured times were those spent with his family, especially attending his grandchildren's sporting events.
Frank leaves to cherish his memory, Mary, his wife of the past 66 years; children: Cheryl (Mike) Martin, Mary Frances (Rick) Anstett and Kris (Rodney) Benson; 5 grandchildren: Robyn (Rick) Frazier, Matthew (Jade) Benson, Brandon (Jess) Benson, Ben Anstett and Nick (Gretchen) Anstett; as well as 9 great grandchildren: Sarah, Hilda, Bradley, Elliott, Zoey, Liam, Jacob, Sierra and Owen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 8 siblings: Helen Eisenhauer, Edward Werstein, Clara Hammer, James Werstein, Carl Werstein, Aggie Steward, Margaret Werstein and Anna Werstein.
