In Loving Memory of Enoch Franklyn Willardsen
"Frank"
1938 - 2024
With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Frank Willardsen, a beloved husband, father, son, uncle, and friend, on November 17, 2024. A man whose life was marked by boundless love, unwavering dedication, and gentle strength. Frank was, and always will be, the very definition of what it means to be a wonderful husband and father.
Frank and Kay were married in the Salt Lake LDS temple. Their marriage of 60 years was a testament to devotion, built on mutual respect and boundless affection. Together, they created a home with children Danielle and Leslie that was filled with joy, laughter, and compassion-a place where love was not only spoken but lived.
After graduating high school in Salt Lake he served an LDS mission to France. Upon his return, Frank attended the University of Utah, where he received his undergraduate and Masters degrees and a Ph.D in Educational Psychology.
He began his professional career with Granite School District as a teacher and then worked as a counselor, principal and culminated in the position as Assistant Superintendent.
Upon retiring, Frank embarked on a second career as a realtor, dedicating himself to helping families find a place to call home.
Throughout his life, Frank's commitment to service was evident in his many roles as a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint. He served as a bishop's counselor, a Stake Sports Coordinator, and in numerous other capacities, especially enjoying working with youth and using goodies to encourage good behavior.
Frank was passionate about many things, especially University of Utah teams. As a member of the Crimson Club for 56 years, he loyally supported the Utes' football and basketball programs.
He loved to golf and is one of the few people who can say they had a hole-in-one. He golfed many rounds with his buddies, family members and he especially loved golfing with his daughter Danielle. Tennis, travel, and taking pride in his meticulously cared-for lawn-his family calls him "The Lawn Mower Man"-were also among his joys.
Frank's love of ice cream was legendary, and he even partnered in owning a popular frozen custard shop, which was repeatedly voted the "Best Ice Cream in Salt Lake". He was skilled in the art of making and eating crepes and frequently enjoyed having a Snickers bar for lunch.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Willardsen, daughter Danielle and brother Robert Willardsen and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Leslie Willardsen, his mother and father, and sisters Geniel and Diane.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 21 at 11a.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe, South Jordan location (1007 W.. South Jordan Parkway). A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. and graveside services will be at Larkin Sunset Lawn (1300 S. 2350 East.).
Special thanks to Valeo Home Health & Hospice, Jewish Family Services and Danville Support Services - the kind compassionate care and support they provided will never be forgotten.
