Frank Chan Wong, 102, of Troy, Michigan, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026. Born in Canton, Ohio, on December 26, 1923. He was the second of six children. Frank lived a long and full life defined by his devotion to his family and pets.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Army Air Force. Frank served during World War II as a Radio Operator Mechanic and Gunner on the B-17 Flying Fortress that was part of the 39th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron. Following his service, he used the GI Bill and earned a degree as a mechanical engineer. Frank had a love for traveling with his family, frequently visiting Los Angeles and Las Vegas to visit his brothers, nephew and cousins.

He is survived by his wife, Joy. Frank was the proud and loving father of Byron (Phongsy) and stepfather to George III(Mary), late Charlie and Christa (Jeremy). He was a proud grandfather to Kai, Lucas and Emily and cherished step grandfather to Alexandria, Lorenzo, Ayden and George IV. He is also survived by his brother, Edward Wong, who recently celebrated his own 100th birthday. His love of family dinners and travel will live on with his family.

Frank's family will receive friends Friday, March 6, 2026, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at A. J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Rd, Troy, MI (between Maple & Big Beaver).

The Funeral Service will begin Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 11:30 am, also at the funeral home. Burial with military honors to follow at Oakview Cemetery 1032 N Main St, Royal Oak, MI 48067.
