Frank H. Wright, age 100, 4 months, and 9 days old, passed away February 22, 2023, in Springfield, Missouri. He was born in Golden City, Kansas on October 13, 1922. At the age of 17, he enlisted with the U.S. Army Air Force where he fought in World War II. After his time in the service, he attended and graduated from Ottawa University with a Bachelor degree in music. He was united in marriage to Mary Lee Haynes on August 28, 1949, in Fort Scott, Kansas, who later passed away in November 1996. His interests included woodworking, making clocks, spending time with family, and music.
He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Lee Wright; sister, Lois Carol Wright; brother, Bud Wright; and parents, C.L. Wright and Clara Lambert Wright. He is survived by daughters, Carol Wright Pryor (husband Tim) and Patricia Jo Byerly (husband Bud); 5 grandchildren, Crystal Snapp, Tracie Snapp, Steve Snapp, Jason Byerly, and Ryan Byerly; 5 great-grandchildren, Jake Mendoza, Elle Mendoza, Sophie Snapp, Katie Byerly, and Leah Byerly; nephews, Craig Wright, Gary Wright, and Brian Wright; and brother-in-law's, Conley Coyan, Bob Haynes, and Tom Haynes.
The family wishes to thank all of his friends and all the staff at Glendale Gardens Nursing Home for the love, dignity, and care they gave their dad for 5 ½ years.
The visitation for Mr. Wright will be Monday, February 27, 12:00-1:00 PM, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East. The service will follow at 1:00 PM, with the burial at Hazelwood Cemetery.
