Frankie "Frank" I. Porter, born on July 31, 1963, in Lebanon, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly on August 18, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky. He was a beloved figure in his community and a cherished family man warmth and humor everyone he encountered. For 23 years, Frank dedicated his career to UPS in Louisville, where he was known not only for his work ethic but also for his vibrant personality that could brighten any room. Before his time at UPS, he spent 12 years serving the community at Kunz Restaurant. Frank's commitment to his work was a testament to his character, as he always approached every task with a smile and a willingness to help others.
Frank was a beacon of joy; his infectious laughter and penchant for jokes were characteristic of a man who embraced life fully. He had an unwavering passion for his hobbies, which included attending NASCAR races and rooting for the University of Kentucky Wildcats in football and basketball. A true fan, Frank took great joy in supporting his team, and he loved spending time celebrating victories with his family.
Family was at the heart of Frank's life. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Cynthia Tyler Porter, who was his steadfast partner through thick and thin. Frank leaves behind his children, Timothy Porter, Brandi Porter, Jayden Porter, Tracy O'Shea, and Frankie O'Shea, along with his adoring grandchildren, Kiyah, Madison, Josiah, Samya, Tyler, Melody, Evelyn, and Qi'ra. Additionally, he is survived by two brothers and six sisters, who will carry on his legacy of kindness and laughter.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, James Porter, Sr. and Mary Porter, as well as his sister, Pauline Porter, and his brother, George Porter. Although they are no longer with us, their memories will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who loved them.
A visitation will be held on August 30, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home in East Louisville, followed by a Celebration of Life from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location. His family invites all who knew him to join in remembering a truly remarkable man whose life was a gift to all who were fortunate to share in it.
