Franklin Drake, Sr. has gone home to be with God on September 30, 2025. He celebrated 94 years, 6 months, and 14 days with God in his heart guiding his life and waiting for the rapture or to be called home.

He loved God and his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mildred Louise Drake and his precious granddaughter, Amanda Joy Miracle. He is survived by four children, Franklin Drake, Jr. and wife Pearl, Charles Ray Drake and wife Anita, Anna Louise Miracle and husband Thomas, and Richard Lee Drake and wife Kathy; 9 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Lt. Drake's celebration of life will be held at Newnam Funeral Home on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 1 PM. He will be laid to rest in the Drake Family Cemetery.

He proudly served 24 years in the United States Navy, was a veteran in Vietnam and Korea.
